Since I eluded to these in my last post, I figured I should just throw this up
here. Braised leeks are a wonderful vegetable. Here is the recipe. Recipe Name: Braised Leeks Ingredients: 1 leek -for 2 people 1 T olive oil or butter salt pepper Steps: *cut off green part of leek and root *slice white part of leek in half lenthwise, root to green, to open up all the layers. *Put in a pan on medium low heat *sprinkle with olive oil or butter, salt and pepper cover and cook for 5-10 minutes, until you start noticing brown around the bottom of the leek. *turn leek over cover and cook until you start seeing a little brown on the bottom * this is now ready to serve NOTES: Covering this during the cooking process is imperative, as the leek requires the moisture to properly break down the fibers. |
Food Whisperer, Gourmet, Inspired. Of these things I have been accused, I believe we all should be inspired! I know I inspire others to try new things in the kitchen. Food can, will and does change lives! It should be fun, easy and bring pleasure to our hearts, bodies, and souls. I embrace challenges like; cooking for multiple people with food allergies at once, creating medieval feasts, and cooking for whatever occasion or food inspires me.
