A lot of people think rice is boring. Even more people just plain dislike brown
rice. Quite honestly I can't blame them. With how many people use instant rices they aren't getting any texture or flavor and that is just plain boring! I have a rice mix that people who don't like brown rice love and it still has wonderful nutritional value and is NOT boring. 1 lb long grain white rice 1 lb brown rice 1/2 sweet rice ( high gluten rice used for Sushi) 1 lb wild rice COOKING THE RICE MIX 1 cup rice mix 2 1/8 c water 1 T Olive Oil pinch salt pinch pepper Bring to a boil cover and let simmer until dry, about 25 minutes. This will take longer if you double or triple the batch. NOTES: If you are a poor at rice cookery or just want something that takes less time like instant rice there is a shortcut you can take: Put all of the ingredients in a pan in the morning and when you go to cook it for dinner most of the water is already absorbed, so it takes much less time to cook. |
Food Whisperer, Gourmet, Inspired. Of these things I have been accused, I believe we all should be inspired! I know I inspire others to try new things in the kitchen. Food can, will and does change lives! It should be fun, easy and bring pleasure to our hearts, bodies, and souls. I embrace challenges like; cooking for multiple people with food allergies at once, creating medieval feasts, and cooking for whatever occasion or food inspires me.
